Buddhist Meditation Classes In Belfast

An introduction to meditation 
in the Samatha tradition
(Samatha means calm)
Samatha meditation is an effective but gentle way of training the mind to generate stillness and peace.

Groups

There are two Samatha Groups in Northern Ireland, one in Belfast and one in Newry.
There is also a class held in Corcaghan, Co. Monaghan (see www.samatha.org/ireland), which may be accessible for some people.

Belfast Group

The Belfast Samatha Meditation Group meets on Thursday night at 7.30pm. The venue for the group is Bridgewood House, Newforge Business Park, Newforge Lane, Belfast. If you need more detailed directions just let me know.

The group is a beginners group and is open to anyone to come alone to at any time. There is no charge for the teachings, but people can make a small donation to help cover the costs etc.

Samatha Buddhist meditation is an effective but gentle way of training the mind to generate stillness, peace and concentration. Samatha means calm. The benefits of meditation are many and vary from person to person depending on their background, interests and needs. The Newry beginners group meets on Mondays at 7:30pm in 7 Downshire Place, Newry.
