Buddhist Meditation Classes In Great Malvern

A Samatha meditation class is held fortnightly at The Friends' Meeting House, Orchard Road, Great Malvern, on the second, fourth and fifth Mondays of each month. Beginners come at 7.00pm and the more experienced meditators meet at 8.00pm. In each meeting there is a group meditation practice, in which everyone can join, and a talk or discussion.

There will be one more meeting this term, on March 25th.  We will then have a break over the Easter holiday and start again on Monday April 22nd.  Subsequent meetings will be April 29th, May 13th and 27th, June 10th and 24th, and July 8th and 22nd.

Newcomers to this tradition are welcome at any time. In the beginners' classes people learn  the stages of this structured  practice with some theory to support this. All meditators have the opportunity to talk about their individual practice with the teacher on a one-to-one basis as required.

There's no need to register for the class - just turn up! The costs of the class are met by donations - there's no fixed fee: most people leave £3 or more if they can afford it.

The Friends' Meeting House on Orchard Road is a short walk from Priory Park, or can be reached by car from Malvern town centre via Abbey Road, forking left onto Priory Road. Orchard Road is then on the left, opposite College Road.

As we sit for practice on a hard wooden floor, you should bring a yoga mat, blanket or other soft surface to sit on. There are some cushions in the Meeting House.
