Samatha Meditation in Richmond
The Samatha meditation class has been meeting in Richmond since April 2003. We originally met at the Friends Meeting House near Richmond Green but since September 2008, we have been meeting at the Cambrian Centre which is nearer Richmond Park.
The teaching is available to all. No previous experience of meditation is required - beginners are welcome. Please feel free to join at any time.
For beginners, there is an talk each week from 7.30pm to 8pm when you will be given an introduction to the practice.
Once you have done the practice at home for at least a week, you can join the main meeting that starts later on in the evening. During this meeting, there is a group practice, discussion and an opportunity to discuss your practice one-to-one with the teacher. If you are coming to this meeting, please bring a cushion.
There is no charge for teaching, but we welcome donations to cover the cost of the room hire.
The class is on its Christmas holiday at the moment but will re-start on 14 January 2010 when it will meet at:
Cambrian Centre,
Caplan Court,
Corner of Queens Road and Cambrian Road,
Richmond Upon Thames,
Surrey
TW10 6SN.
