How long does a meditation class last?

It can be quite variable. It is best to allow one and a half hours at first until it become clearer for your particular night.

What should I wear to a Meditation class?

Comfortable clothes in which you could, if necessary, sit cross legged on the floor.

Can I start at any time?

New classes are advertised as starting in September and January. These are particularly good times to start. It is however quite possible to start learning at any time. In most classes there are people who are at different stages of learning the practice. Late June and early July is shortly before the long Summer break and is the least favourable time to start.

How much does it cost?

There is no charge for the teaching but those attending are asked to give a donation of their choice towards the upkeep of the Centre. Please see Meditation Classes in Manchester for futher details.


 

Is there a newsletter?

Yes; ask your teacher to put you on the mailing list.


Does a monk or nun live at the Centre?


No; this is a lay organisation and the teachers have jobs, homes and family commitments.

Can beginners borrow books from the library?

As a member, and when you have been practising meditation for a year, you will be able to borrow books from the library.
